Build a Booking System With Base44: Remix the Barber Shop Template in One Evening
The Vibe Cut Barber Shop template, five copy-paste prompts, and the real cost of going live: $0 to build, $16 to $20 a month to publish on your own domain
By Shlomi, founder of DoitWithAI | Updated | Base44 facts rechecked October 12, 2026
Quick answer
In Base44, search templates for "Vibe Cut Barber Shop", click Remix, then edit services, prices and hours by chatting. Build and test on the Free plan (25 message credits a month, 5 a day). Publishing on your own domain needs Starter: $20/month or $16/month billed annually, with a first-year domain included on yearly plans. Verified 2026-10-12.

We earn a commission if you sign up for Base44 through a link on this page. It does not change what you pay, and it does not change what we say: where Booksy or Square is the better buy, we tell you.
We built this remix ourselves in October 2026, in an ordinary Base44 account, using the exact prompts below. The screenshots and the screen recording of the build are being edited. Video walkthrough: coming to this page.
Who this is for
If you take appointments by text, DM or phone, this is for you. Barbers, hair and nail salons, massage therapists, small clinics, tutors, dog groomers. Anyone with a service menu and a calendar.
The problem is always the same. A client messages at 11pm. You answer in the morning. By then they booked somewhere else, or they booked with you and forgot, because nothing confirmed it. You are the booking system, and you are off duty half the day.
Base44 is an app builder you steer by chatting. You type what you want changed, the app changes. It is owned by Wix, and 10 million people have built on it. You do not need to code, and you do not need a blank page, because a booking template already exists. New to it? Read What is Base44? first, three minutes. The short version is our booking quick-start page; this is the long one.
What the Vibe Cut template gives you
"Vibe Cut Barber Shop" is a template in Base44's library. Remix it and you get a working booking app, not a mockup. Here is what is in the box:
- A public booking page. The link you hand to clients. Service list, prices, a slot picker, a short form for name and contact details.
- Services with prices. Each one editable. Add or remove a service in one sentence.
- A slot picker that works off your opening hours and the length of each service.
- A private admin view. Today's bookings, upcoming ones, and a client list. Visible to you, not to clients.
It says barber on the label. Ignore that. A nail salon, a massage room and a tutoring business all run on the same bones: services, durations, prices, hours, a calendar, and a list of the people who booked. You change the words. The structure stays.
Everything below happens by chatting with Base44. You type a prompt, the app updates, you check the preview. Five prompts. One evening.
Step 1 to 5: from Remix to your first booking
Step 1: Create a free account and remix the template
Create a free Base44 account. No card. Open the template library, search "Vibe Cut Barber Shop", click Remix. The whole app is copied into your account. The Free plan gives you 25 message credits a month, capped at 5 a day, which covers this guide if you make each prompt count. How credits work: Base44 credits explained.
Prompt 1: paste this first, before changing anything
This is a booking app for my shop. Keep the structure as it is. Before I change anything, give me a short list of everything I can edit: services, prices, opening hours, slot length, the booking form fields, and the admin view. Do not change anything yet.
Step 2: Rename it and set your services and prices
One prompt. Put your real menu in: shop name, each service, how long it takes, what it costs. Nothing else yet. One idea per prompt is cheaper and easier to check.
Prompt 2: your menu
Rename the app to [your shop name]. Replace all services with these, one per line: [service name, duration in minutes, price]. Remove any service I did not list. Use [your currency]. Update the public page and the admin view so they match.
Step 3: Hours, slot length and buffer
Tell it your week, your slot length and how much gap you need between clients. Name the closed days out loud. The buffer is the setting people forget, and the reason a 30-minute cut needs a 40-minute slot.
Prompt 3: your week
Set opening hours: [Mon to Fri 9:00 to 18:00, Sat 9:00 to 14:00, closed Sun]. A slot is the duration of the chosen service plus a [10]-minute buffer after it. Never offer a slot in the past, on a closed day, or one that overlaps an existing booking.
Step 4: The client list and a notes field
The admin side is where your time comes back. Ask for a client list built from bookings, plus a private notes field per client: colour formula, allergies, always ten minutes late. Private means it never shows on the public page.
Prompt 4: your clients
In the admin view, add a Clients page: one row per client, created automatically from bookings, showing name, contact details, number of visits and last visit. Add a private notes field per client that only I can see. Never show notes anywhere on the public booking page.
Step 5: Make a test booking from your phone
Open the public page on your phone, not your laptop. Book a real slot under your own name. Then check the admin view: right service, time and price? If yes, skip the prompt and keep the credit. If not, describe exactly what you saw.
Prompt 5: only if something broke
I made a test booking from my phone for [service] on [date and time]. Here is what went wrong: [describe exactly what you saw]. Fix only that. Do not change anything else.
Preventing double bookings
A booking page that double books is worse than a text thread. Run this list before anyone but you sees the link. Each test takes a minute and costs nothing on the Free plan.
- Overlapping slot. Book 10:00 for a 30-minute service, then try to book 10:15. It must be refused.
- Closed day. Try to book on the day you marked closed. No slots should appear.
- Past time. Open the page late in the day and look for this morning's slots. They should be gone.
- Two browsers at once. Open the same slot on your phone and your laptop, confirm on both. Only one should succeed, and the other should get a clear message, not a silent failure.
- Cancellation. Cancel a booking from the admin view, then check the slot is open again on the public page.
If a test fails, send Base44 that exact test as a prompt, in the Step 5 shape. Fix one thing, then re-run all five. Find it now, not on a Saturday with a full chair.
Going live: your own domain and the Base44 badge
Up to here, everything is free. Your app lives on a Base44 subdomain and carries a small Base44 badge. You can send that link to friends and test clients today. For a real business you want yourbusiness.com and no badge, and that is the point where you pay.
Both need the Starter plan: $20/month, or $16/month billed annually. Yearly plans include a first-year domain, claimed within 60 days of subscribing. If you do not own a domain yet, yearly is also the cheaper way to get one.
Connecting the domain means adding a couple of records at your registrar. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, so do it on a quiet day, not the morning you planned to announce. The Base44 subdomain keeps working in the meantime, so nothing breaks in between. The step by step, including how to claim the domain, is in Base44 custom domain.
What it costs month to month
For a booking page specifically, this table is the whole decision:
| Free | Starter | |
|---|---|---|
| Build the app from the template | Yes | Yes |
| Test it with friends | Yes | Yes |
| Publish on a Base44 subdomain | Yes | Yes |
| Your own domain | No | Yes |
| Remove the Base44 badge | No | Yes |
| Message credits | 25 a month, max 5 a day | 100 a month |
| Integration credits | 100 a month | 2,000 a month |
| Apps | Up to 5 | Unlimited |
| Price | $0 | $20/month, or $16/month billed annually |
Build on Free. Upgrade the day a client, not a friend, is about to use it. The Builder plan ($50/month, or $40/month annually) exists, but one booking page does not need it. Every plan side by side: Base44 pricing. If your only question is "is it actually free": Is Base44 free?.
Reminders, deposits and payments
Three things every salon asks for, and three things this guide will not promise you.
Reminders. You can ask Base44 to send a confirmation email when a booking lands, and a reminder before the appointment. Emails spend integration credits: 100 a month on Free, 2,000 on Starter. Build it, book yourself, and check the email actually arrives in your inbox before you rely on it. Text message reminders are a different thing. Do not assume they are included.
Deposits and payments. You can ask Base44 to add a payment step. How that gets set up, which provider, what fees apply and what works in your country are things you test yourself, on the Free plan, before a client ever sees it. We are not stating specifics because they change, and a failed payment on a real booking is a lost client.
The rule: anything that touches money or a client's phone gets tested with your own card and your own phone first. On Free. Then you decide whether to switch it on.
When Booksy, Square or Fresha is the better call
Your own page is yours: your domain, no fee per booking, no competitor listed next to your name. But it brings you nobody. A marketplace does. If you are new, with empty slots and no client list, a marketplace that sends you strangers can be worth more than ownership. If your book is full of regulars who already text you, you are paying a marketplace to manage people you already have. That is the whole choice.
| What it costs | Pick it when | |
|---|---|---|
| Booksy | $29.99/month (booksy.com pricing, checked October 2026) | You need new clients from a marketplace and will pay a flat fee for the listing |
| Square Appointments | Free tier for one location | You are one person in one location and already take payments with Square |
| Fresha | No subscription; processing and marketplace fees | You want zero fixed cost and accept paying per client it brings you |
The agent version: booking by email instead of a page
If your clients would rather email than click, Base44 has a different tool for that: a Superagent that reads booking requests in Gmail and puts them on your Calendar, no booking page at all. We teach that build in the Academy, free: the agent version.
Frequently asked questions
Is Base44 free for a booking page?
Yes to build and test, no to publish on your own domain. The Free plan ($0) gives you 25 message credits a month, capped at 5 a day, and up to 5 apps, which is enough to remix the template and run every test on this page. Your own domain and removing the Base44 badge need Starter: $20/month or $16/month billed annually.
Can I make a booking website for a hair or nail salon with Base44?
Yes. Remix the Vibe Cut Barber Shop template and swap the services for yours: cuts, colour, gel, acrylics, whatever your menu is, each with a duration and a price. The booking logic is identical for any appointment business; only the words change.
Does it take deposits or payments?
Only if you add it and test it yourself. You can ask Base44 to add a payment step, but the provider, the fees and what works in your country are yours to check on the Free plan with your own card before a client sees it. We do not promise payments on this page.
Does it send reminders?
You can ask it to send a confirmation email and a reminder email, which spend integration credits (100 a month on Free, 2,000 on Starter). Book yourself and confirm the email arrives before you depend on it. Do not assume text message reminders are included.
Does it replace Booksy?
For a shop with regulars who already text you, yes: you get your own page on your own domain for $16 to $20 a month instead of $29.99. For a new shop that needs a marketplace to send strangers, no, because your own page brings you nobody.
Does the booking page work on mobile?
Yes. It is a web page, so clients open the link in their phone browser with nothing to download. Step 5 of this guide is a test booking from your own phone for exactly that reason; if anything looks cramped, one prompt fixes it.
How long does it take?
One evening for the remix, the five prompts and the five double-booking tests. Then, once you upgrade and connect a domain, up to 48 hours for DNS to propagate. The Base44 subdomain works the whole time.
How this guide was checked
- The template name, the Remix flow and the Free-plan limits were checked in our own Base44 account on 2026-10-12; the plan prices and the custom-domain terms on base44.com/pricing and the Base44 help center the same day.
- The five prompts are the ones we used; the double-booking checklist is what we tested. Screenshots and a screen recording of the build are being produced and will be added to this page.
- Booksy, Square Appointments and Fresha prices were read from their pricing pages on 2026-10-12.
- DoitWithAI is a Base44 affiliate and earns a commission on upgrades. Base44 does not review these pages.
