The Story
Maria runs a small yoga studio in Portland. She loves teaching. She does not love answering the same four questions 8 times a day in Instagram DMs.
"What time is Monday class?" "Do you offer drop-ins?" "How much is the monthly pass?" "Can I bring a friend?"
Every. Single. Day. Forty-five minutes wasted on the same answers.
One afternoon, she opened Base44, went to the Superagents tab, and built a Customer Q&A Superagent in about 10 minutes. She described it in chat, answered a few clarifying questions, connected it to Instagram, and pasted her FAQ into the Knowledge section.
Two weeks later, she told us: "I recovered 45 minutes a day. My students are getting answers at 10 PM. And I'm finally reading something other than DMs."
You can do the exact same thing. Let's build it.
What This Superagent Does (Exactly)
Your Customer Q&A Superagent:
- Listens to incoming messages on your chosen channel (Gmail, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, or WhatsApp)
- Reads each message and decides if it's a question your FAQ can answer
- Responds automatically with the right answer, in your voice, within seconds
- Flags anything unusual for you to handle personally (a complaint, a custom request, something outside your FAQ)
- Runs 24/7 even when you're sleeping, eating, or deep in client work
The result: Your customers feel heard instantly. You get your time back. Everyone wins.
The Setup: Step by Step
Here's how to build this on Base44. It takes about 10 minutes the first time.
Step 1: Go to Base44 and Start a New Superagent
Go to base44.com. Click the Superagents tab. Click "Create new Superagent." You'll see a conversational chat interface. This is where you'll describe what you want your Superagent to do.
Step 2: Paste the Setup Prompt Below
Copy and paste this entire prompt into the Base44 chat. Replace the brackets with your actual information. Base44 will ask you clarifying questions. Answer honestly and specifically.
📋 COPY THIS PROMPT
I need a Customer Q&A Superagent for my [business type — e.g. yoga studio / coaching practice / online shop].
Identity: You are a warm, helpful assistant for [Business Name]. Your name is [Agent Name, e.g. "Maya"].
Your job: Answer customer questions automatically using the FAQ I'll give you. Respond within seconds, 24/7.
Soul (how to behave):
- Be warm and friendly, like a real team member — not a robot
- Keep replies short: 2–3 sentences max
- If the answer isn't in the FAQ, say: "Great question! Let me check with the team and get back to you within [timeframe]." Then flag it for me.
- Never guess or make up information
- Always end with a next step (e.g. "Ready to book? Reply here or visit our website.")
Connect to: [Gmail / WhatsApp / Instagram DMs — pick one to start]
I'll paste my FAQ into the Knowledge section.
Step 3: Answer Base44's Clarifying Questions
Base44 will ask you things like:
- "What's your business exactly?" (Be specific. Don't say "consulting." Say "web design for small ecommerce brands.")
- "What are the top 3-5 questions you get asked?" (Answer directly. These help Base44 understand your context.)
- "What channel should I monitor?" (Pick one: Gmail is easiest. WhatsApp or Instagram come next.)
- "Anything else I should know?" (Tell it about your tone, your audience, any special rules.)
Answer each question. Be conversational. Base44 is smart enough to understand nuance.
Step 4: Authorize the Integration (One-Click OAuth)
When Base44 asks you to connect to Gmail, WhatsApp, or Instagram, it'll show you a one-click authorization button. Click it. It'll prompt you to allow Base44 to read messages from that channel (it won't send anything without your approval). Done.
Step 5: Go to the Brain Section and Add Your FAQ
Click the "Brain" tab in Base44. You'll see two sections:
- Identity: Your Superagent's name, personality, and role. Base44 pre-filled this based on your prompt. Feel free to adjust.
- Soul: Behavioral rules and constraints. Base44 has this too. You can refine it.
- Knowledge: This is where you paste your FAQ.
In the Knowledge section, paste your FAQ as plain text. Format it like this:
Example FAQ (from Maria's studio):
Q: What time are the Monday classes?
A: We have classes at 7 AM (gentle flow), 12 PM (power), and 6 PM (yin). All are 60 minutes.
Q: Do you offer drop-in classes?
A: Yes! Drop-ins are always welcome. It's $18 per class or $99/month unlimited.
Q: Can I bring a friend to my first class?
A: Absolutely! New students get their first class free, and bringing a friend is even better. We have mats and blocks available.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Just bring yourself and stay hydrated. We provide mats, blocks, blankets, and straps. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in.
Q: How do I register for classes?
A: You can sign up on our website or send us a DM here. We'll get you set up in 5 minutes.
Q: Do you have parking?
A: Yes! Free parking is available in the lot behind the studio. We also have bike racks out front.
Q: Can I do makeup classes?
A: Yes. Let us know if you need to miss a class, and we'll arrange a makeup at a time that works.
Don't overthink it. Your FAQ doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to cover the 80% of questions you answer repeatedly.
Step 6: Test It
In the Base44 chat, type sample questions like:
- "What time is your Monday class?"
- "How much does a drop-in cost?"
- "Can beginners come?"
Read the Superagent's responses. Do they feel right? Do they match your tone? If not, go back to the Knowledge section and adjust the FAQ answers (takes 30 seconds). Test again.
Step 7: Activate
When you're happy, click "Activate" or "Go Live." Your Superagent is now live and listening to messages on the channel you chose.
Tips for Writing a Good FAQ
Make answers useful, not robotic
Bad: "Hours vary by day."
Good: "Monday and Tuesday we open at 7 AM. Wednesday–Friday we're open at 6 AM. Saturday is 8 AM, and we're closed Sundays."
Anticipate what they really want to know
People don't always ask what they mean. If someone asks "Do you take beginners?", they really mean "Will I feel lost?" So your answer could be: "Yes! About 40% of our students are new to yoga. We offer a beginner-friendly class at 12 PM on weekdays, and our teachers always provide modifications."
Keep answers short
One or two sentences. Max three. Your Superagent isn't a textbook.
Include next steps
End answers with what they should do next. "Ready to try a class? Reply here or visit our website to book."
