How much does a Base44 custom domain cost?
Two costs stack: the Base44 plan (Starter or higher) and the domain itself. The domain is the smaller one, and the first year can be free.
- Free first year: every yearly plan from Starter up includes a free domain for the first year. Claim it within 60 days of starting the yearly plan.
- What the voucher covers: Public Registration only. Private registration and DNSSEC are optional extras that add a yearly cost, and DNSSEC cannot be added to a domain that is already registered.
- Renewal: domains bought in Base44 renew automatically each year, so put the renewal date in your calendar.
- Monthly billing: the free-domain voucher is tied to yearly plans. If you pay monthly, expect to pay for the domain at checkout.
Check the exact domain price at checkout, because it varies by extension. Country-code domains such as .co.il and .de follow their own registry rules, which can mean a shorter deadline to verify your contact details.
Option 1: buy a domain inside Base44
This is the least work, because the registration, DNS and SSL are set up for you and the domain connects to your app automatically. Per the docs, every domain bought in Base44 from September 9, 2026 comes from Wix.
- In your app editor, click Dashboard, then Domains.
- Under Custom domains, click Buy new domain.
- Search for a name and click Get it on the one you want.
- Choose a registration period and add your contact details (they set the registered owner and may appear in public databases).
- Pick a privacy option, then pay at checkout. Only the workspace owner can buy and manage domains.
- Your domain connects automatically. Click Publish so the app goes live on it.
Avoid brand names in the domain
Domain names that contain another company's brand or product name cannot be hosted on Base44. The domain registers, but your app is not served on it. Choose a name that is yours.
Option 2: connect a domain you already own
If you already own a domain from another registrar, you can connect it. Base44 can set up your DNS for you, or you can add the records by hand. Allow up to 48 hours for DNS changes to take effect when you use an external provider.
- Connect the root domain (mybusiness.com) or a subdomain (app.mybusiness.com).
- Connecting a domain does not publish the app. It only goes live on that domain once you publish.
- If another workspace used the same domain before, you may need to claim it.
- You can set up 301 redirects and send your app's emails (password resets, invites) from your own domain.
If it still shows as not connected after 48 hours, check that the DNS records match exactly what the Domains page shows and that no old records for the same name are left at your registrar.
Which plan should you pick?
