Base44 Pricing in the UK, Australia and Canada: What You Actually Pay (2026)

Every Base44 plan in pounds, Australian dollars and Canadian dollars, plus the VAT, GST and card fees that the USD price on the pricing page leaves out

By Shlomi, founder of DoitWithAI | Updated | Base44 facts rechecked October 18, 2026

    Quick answer

Base44 lists its prices in US dollars and, for most countries, charges in USD too. Starter is $16/month billed annually or $20 monthly: roughly £12 to £15 in the UK, A$23 to A$29 in Australia and C$23 to C$28 in Canada at the 16 October 2026 rate, before any tax or card fee. The Free plan is $0 everywhere, with no card. Base44's own in-app payments work for UK sellers but not yet for Australian or Canadian ones.

The Base44 pricing page shows one set of numbers, in US dollars, with no country selector. If you pay from the UK, Australia or Canada, three things decide your real monthly cost: the exchange rate on the day you are charged, any VAT or GST added at checkout, and your card's foreign transaction fee. This page does that maths per country and adds the one difference that matters after you have built something: whether you can take payments inside your app where you live.

Dollar prices were checked on Base44's pricing page on 18 October 2026. Conversions use the European Central Bank reference rates of 16 October 2026 (US$1 = £0.75, A$1.44, C$1.42) and are rounded, so treat them as a guide, not a quote. For what each plan includes, see our full Base44 pricing breakdown; if you only want to know whether you can start for nothing, that is answered in the Base44 free plan guide.

Base44 plans in GBP, AUD and CAD

    Elite$160 / $200£120 / £150A$230 / A$287C$227 / C$283

Annual means the monthly price when you pay for the year up front, with Base44's 20% discount. Starter on annual billing is one charge of $192, about £144, A$276 or C$272. Base44's billing documentation says annual fees are non-refundable, so take the monthly plan until you know you will keep building.

How Base44 bills you outside the US

    • Currency: Base44's billing docs say your currency is set by where you are and that most customers pay in USD. GBP, AUD and CAD are not listed as billing currencies, so expect a USD charge and check the figure on the checkout screen before you confirm.
    • Payment methods: major credit and debit cards only (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). The docs rule out PayPal, bank transfer, virtual cards and crypto.
    • Card fees: because the charge is in USD, most UK, Australian and Canadian cards add a foreign transaction fee, typically around 2.5% to 3%. A card with no foreign transaction fee removes it.
    • Invoices and tax ID: on a paid plan you can add a tax ID and billing address and download invoices, which matters if your business reclaims VAT or GST.
    • iPhone app: subscribe through the App Store and Apple sets the local price, which can differ from the web price. Subscribing on the website in USD is the price shown in this guide.

United Kingdom: Base44 price in pounds and VAT

Starter works out at about £12 a month on annual billing or £15 monthly, before VAT and card fees. Base44 does not say on its pricing page whether UK VAT is added at checkout. Under UK rules, an overseas business selling digital services to UK consumers has to charge 20% VAT, so if VAT appears on your checkout, Starter becomes roughly £14.40 or £18 a month. VAT-registered businesses that enter a VAT number are normally not charged it.

The UK advantage: Base44 Payments, the built-in way to take card payments inside your app (powered by Wix), accepts sellers in the UK and pays out in GBP. It needs the Builder plan or higher (about £30 a month on annual billing).

Australia: Base44 price in AUD and GST

Starter is about A$23 a month on annual billing or A$29 monthly, before GST and card fees. Since July 2017 overseas suppliers of digital services to Australian consumers have had to charge 10% GST; if your checkout adds it, Starter is roughly A$25 or A$32 a month. Businesses that give an ABN and are registered for GST are not charged it.

What Australian builders lose: Base44 Payments does not support Australian sellers. To charge customers from an Australian Base44 app, use an external payment link (a Stripe Payment Link works on Starter, sending buyers back to a thank-you page in your app) or the Stripe integration on Builder and above.

Canada: Base44 price in CAD and GST/HST

Starter is about C$23 a month on annual billing or C$28 monthly, before tax and card fees. Since 1 July 2021 non-resident digital suppliers above C$30,000 a year in Canadian consumer sales must register and charge GST/HST. If your checkout adds it, Starter is roughly C$24 to C$30 with 5% GST, or C$26 to C$32 with Ontario's 13% HST.

Same gap as Australia: Base44 Payments does not support Canadian sellers yet, so use an external payment link on Starter or the Stripe integration on Builder.

Which plan to start on, wherever you are

The plan logic is the same in every country: start on Free (25 message credits a month, no card), and move to Starter the day credits are what is slowing you down. Starter is where unlimited apps and your own domain unlock; we confirmed custom domains work on Starter in a paid account. Builder only earns its price if you need in-app payments (UK), GitHub sync or many more credits. More on stretching credits: Base44 credits explained.
